THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	JACOB'S LADDER (J Gates) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls.
b)	SAFARI BLUE (*KJ Lihaba) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockeys K Matsunyane and C Zackey, the riders of AL QAASIM and TRANSACT respectively, reported that these geldings made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b)	Jockey A Arries reported that PRINCE VIHAAN, which took an awkward stride and was momentarily unbalanced at the 200m, changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	Trainer GS Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he failed to present BLACKBERRY MALT correctly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer GS Kotzen signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning.
d)	BLACKBERRY MALT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised. (LM)
