THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEY SIRI (M Yeni) jumped outwards. b) DOUBLE CHECK (G van Niekerk) and DEFINITELY MAYBE (K Minnie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DOUBLE CHECK (G van Niekerk) shifted out away from the crop between the 150m and the finish. b) In view of the performance of MEDLERS TART (L Mxothwa), which was not persevered with from the 300m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 25.3.1 in that he failed to present his Medical Record Book to the Clerk of Scales at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the first race in which he had his engagement. Jockey G van Niekerk signed Admission of Guilt and was fined R250,00 d) FLOWER OF SAIGON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
