THE STARTER REPORTED A) ROMANOFF was slow into stride. B) PRINCESS DEB'S was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 1 length. C) SHADES OF GLITTER, JAYTARA and HELENCANUCOPE were stubborn loading. D) COSMOGENIC RAIN was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) SAILAWAY WITH ME (G Cheyne) and GAILIEA (M V'Rensburg) raced green throughout. B) MISS UNITED STATES (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 500m. C) Apprentice K Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with SIEVER'S POINT in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) Jockey C Habib reported that CHINNY ROSE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) The winner ROMANOFF was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer W G C Miller advised (LM).
