Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FUTURE PRINCE (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	SEEKING THE ONE (C Orffer) pulled hard in the early stages.
b)	At the 1200m AT MY COMMAND (L Mxothwa) raced in restricted galloping room for a short distance on the inside of SCALINI (A Arries), which pulled hard in the early and middle stages and rolled in.
c)	WATERBERRY LANE (D Schwarz) raced wide without cover on the turn and, as a consequence, proved difficult to settle.
d)	On entering the straight at the 500m PACAYA (JP van der Merwe) and AT MY COMMAND (L Mxothwa) were carried in by DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE (G van Niekerk), which was directed inwards away from the heels of TRIP OF FORTUNE (A Domeyer), which commenced to give ground to the field quickly.
e)	Jockey A Domeyer reported that he felt something amiss with TRIP OF FORTUNE leaving the 500m and immediately eased this gelding out of the race and dismounted before the finish. The Veterinary Surgeon attended to TRIP OF FORTUNE on course. As a result of this incident, Jockey A Domeyer was unable to weigh in. In terms of Rule 66.2 the Stewards were satisfied that TRIP OF FORTUNE would have carried the correct weight.
f)	Jockey A Andrews dropped his right-side rein at the 150m, which he only regained after the finish.
g) 	TRIP OF FORTUNE (A Domeyer) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. h)	MONTIEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised. (SC)
