Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	LE GRAND CAFE (+S Mosia) jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	BREATH OF MAGIC (+S Mkhumbuzi) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c)	PEDASOS (+N Ngqwangi) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
d)	PALERMO (+D Mazule) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	JUDGEMENT DAY (+P Mongqawa) and LADY GREENSLEEVES (+T Matsoele) over raced in the early stages.
b)	In view of the performance of BREATH OF MAGIC (+S Mkhumbuzi) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
c)	When afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which contributed to the poor performance of BREATH OF MAGIC, Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi explained to the Board that, after being slow away, this colt had to ease off the heels of LE GRAND CAFE (+S Mosia) at the 1300m and lost momentum, which resulted in his sitting further back than intended. Thereafter, in the straight, this colt did not respond to his urgings. In his opinion, this run might have been too close to his run on 12th November. Trainer F Bronkhorst was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables.
d)	Work Rider A Feni was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of DUBAI HILLS he misused his crop by striking DUBAI HILLS more than 12 times (17) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider A Feni signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for three (3) Work Rider's races, dates as follows: 28/11/2023, 05/12/2023 and 12/12/2023.
e)	Work Rider S Mosia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of LE GRAND CAFE he misused his crop by striking LE GRAND CAFE more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider S Mosia signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for two (2) Work Rider's races, dates as follows: 28/11/2023 and 05/12/2023.
f)	DUBAI HILLS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P Lhamine, acting on behalf of Trainer MF de Kock, was advised. (LK)
