Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	KAMBULU (P Strydom) broke through the front of the stalls, was restrained after 200m, returned to the start, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. During this incident, the saddle on KAMBULU (P Strydom) shifted sideways and had to be refitted, causing a delay.
b)	As a result of KAMBULU (P Strydom) breaking through the front of the stalls, CORAPI (*MK Katjedi) broke through, was immediately restrained, returned to the start, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded.
c)	MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (P Mxoli) reared in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	KAMBULU (P Strydom), after being slow away, over raced in the early and middle stages. As a consequence, this gelding raced wide around the turn and into the straight and thereafter tired from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine KAMBULU (P Strydom).
b)	Shortly before the finish line, when racing in tight quarters, ROSY LEMON (R Fourie) was accidentally struck on the nose by the crop of Jockey D Schwarz (LITTLE PRINCE).
c)	Jockey D de Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with FIFTH OF JULY. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding KAMBULU (P Strydom), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load on a race day with a companion. (Suspension dates: 17/11/2023 to 23/11/2023 inclusive). KAMBULU may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e)	LITTLE PRINCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer FP Habib was advised. (LK)
