THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN CORRUPT (C Habib) refused to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JET LEGACY (*K J Lihaba) switched out off the heels of MR MOLONY (A Mgudlwa) to obtain a clear run in the concluding stages. b) In view of the performance of BENNI IN THE AREA (C F Dicken), (7/1 in the betting, 9.70 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) When questioned regarding his ride on JET LEGACY over the final 400m, Apprentice K Lihaba accompanied with Riding Master, Mr N Roebuck, stated that his riding instructions were to ride this gelding with cover and to sit as long as possible to ensure that this gelding finishes its race off strongly. These riding instructions were confirmed by Assistant Trainer K Wright acting on behalf of Trainer A Wright. The Board noted the explanation and further advised Apprentice Lihaba that should there be a change in riding tactics, the Board must be advised prior to the running of the race. d) In view of the report the Starter's report regarding CAPTAIN CORRUPT (C Habib), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and it is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as it proves to be tractable with a companion on a race day. (Suspension dates: 20/11/2023 to 26/11/2023 inclusive). CAPTAIN CORRUPT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) HAPPY WANDERER (*S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Crawford acting on behalf of Trainer L Crawford advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PURPLE POWAHOUSE: Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. b) BENNI IN THE AREA: Nothing obvious detected.
