THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) VIHAAN'S GREY (G Wright) raced awkwardly in the early stages. b) At the 350m AVIGNON (R Fourie) had to be steadied off the heels of GENTLEMEN JOE (C Orffer) and brushed a tiring VIHAAN'S GREY (G Wright) when GENTLEMEN JOE (C Orffer) shifted out. c) In the latter stages EPIKLEROS (G van Niekerk) was carried out marginally by GENTLEMEN JOE (C Orffer), which was hanging out and was straightened. Jockey C Orffer appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary appropriate action to straighten his mounts sooner. d) GENTLEMAN JOE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Dixon, acting on behalf of Trainer WA Nel, was advised.
