THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BONANZA (D Ashby) was restless in the stalls.
b)	WYLIE JACK (C Zackey) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 600m WORDSWORTH (A Andrews) brushed the inside rail and became momentarily unbalanced when awkwardly placed between the inside rail and ROCK ON TOMMY (J Solomons), which rolled in marginally. As a consequence WYLIE JACK (C Zackey), which was following, had to steady. In view of this incident, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine WORDSWORTH (A Andrews).
b)	MAJOR APOLLO (R Fourie) raced wide on the turn.
c)	AXL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Dixon, acting on behalf of Trainer WA Nel, was advised. (WM)
