Race 2: BETWAY SUMMER CUP 25 NOVEMBER MAIDEN PLATE (For all Maidens. R15 000 Win bonus ROA Members)

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	BIG BOY BRUCE (C Zackey) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised (GT).                
b)	HUNTING GROUND (D Schwarz) stumbled leaving the stalls. 
c)	HIGH QUEUE (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
d)	Shortly after the start, POLICY OF TRUTH (K A Brewer) and MO START (*K J Lihaba) came together and bumped. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	WARHAWK BOMBER (*R A Venniker) and DAMASCODORO (Wes Marwing) came together and brushed at the 800m.
b)	At approximately the 100m, JUST A MO (*S Sosibo) was steadied to avoid the heels of HUNTING GROUND, which shifted out sharply when eased out of the race by Jockey D Schwarz. Thereafter, Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with HUNTING GROUND in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
c)	Jockey	S Khumalo, the rider of DUKE OF OXFORD, accidentally dropped his crop shortly before the finish line. 
d)	Apprentice S Sosibo reported that JUST A MO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
e)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to BIG BOY BRUCE, this gelding starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. 
Suspension dates: 23 November 2023 to 30 November 2023. BIG BOY BRUCE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised.  
f)	WARHAWK BOMBER (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W C Marwing advised (MduP).

a)	HUNTING GROUND was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 23 November 2023 at 07H26).
