b)	GLOBAL REEF (*R A Venniker), JAPANESE MAPLE (*M K Katjedi) and TAEGAN'S CHAMP (G Lerena) were slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	DUKE OF ARGYLL (D Schwarz) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m.
b)	Jockey	R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with TRIP TO STATES in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	


c)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning JAPANESE MAPLE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this colt is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer W C Marwing was advised.
d)	TAEGAN'S CHAMP (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MS).
