Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TEFLON MAN (C Zackey) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Approaching the 1200m STEINBECK (G van Niekerk) had to be checked away from the heels of WYAG (J Solomons), which was racing on the inside of MARVEL WILLIAM (A Arries). Jockey A Arries was interviewed with regards to this incident and the Stewards have adjourned to give this matter further consideration. c) Approaching the 100m STEINBECK (G van Niekerk), which initially shifted outwards slightly, was carried inwards by CHARLIE CROKER (A Domeyer), which was hanging in in the latter stages and shifted in. d) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that STEINBECK did not stride out freely in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) CHARLIE CROKER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
