THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RED MAGICIAN (C F Dicken) and TOP TEN (*B Plaatjies) made contact leaving the starting stalls. b) ROCK FALL (C Habib) was hanging out around the first turn. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that BALLY MAGIC changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey R Khathi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on BALLY MAGIC, resulting in a change of rider. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. e) TRUE TROJAN (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Maujean was the rider of BALLY MAGIC. b) Jockey T Godden (BILLY OF TEA) weighed out at 54.3kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
