THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED HOT ROSE (D De Gouveia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) CULLINAN BLUE (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish line, ELEGANT ICE (C Zackey), which shifted out away from the crop, and WYZEACT (G Lerena), which shifted in away from the crop, came together and brushed. b) Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with THE MAURITIAN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey C Habib reported that GARLANDSOFGREENERY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) CULLINAN BLUE (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
