THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JIVE EXPRESS (S Brown) and ZAZU (M Yeni) were slow into stride. b) WESTERN DANCE (*J R Syster) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ZAZU (M Yeni), after being slow away, was encouraged forward and commenced to over-race. As a consequence, ZAZU (M Yeni) raced awkwardly with its head up around the turn. b) At approximately the 1400m, WESTERN DANCE (*J R Syster) was steadied momentarily off the heels MASAAKEN (AUS) (G Lerena), which rolled in. c) MASAAKEN (AUS) (G Lerena) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. d) CAP ESTEL (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
