Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUE BAY (G Wright) and ALFREDTHEBRAVE (D Ashby) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, RESURGENCE (R Danielson) and DOUBLE DISTILLED (C Bantam) brushed. Thereafter, DOUBLE DISTILLED (C Bantam) over raced in the early stages. b) BLUE BAY (G Wright), which raced green, was outpaced in the early stages and had to be encouraged to maintain its position. c) ALFREDTHEBRAVE (D Ashby) raced detached from the field throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that SPELLING BEE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) Trainer P Muscutt was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/owners of PETTEIA. Trainer P Muscutt signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. f) THE GREY KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
