THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THERES A LIGHT (J R Syster) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) BREATH OF MAGIC (R Fourie) was slow losing three lengths and thereafter slow into stride. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (PHvdW). c) CHARLIE'S DREAM (Wes Marwing) and SABRE STRIKE (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Before engaging in his first ride, Jockey L Mxothwa (HAT MAN) was examined by the Course Medical Officer and declared fit to ride. b) THERES A LIGHT (J R Syster) jumped awkwardly outwards making contact with the left-side front gate. c) Shortly after the start, PEDASOS (*N Nastili) and ATARIME (P Mxoli) were bumped in by HAT MAN (L Mxothwa), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) THERES A LIGHT (J R Syster) hung out in the concluding stages. e) SABRE STRIKE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SABRE STRIKE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 5 December 2023 at 17H54). b) SECRET CHORD raced equipped with blinkers (declared 9 December 2023 at 08H43).
