THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOLD MY HAND (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start ENEMY TERRITORY (IRE) (L Mxothwa), which over raced in the early stages, raced onto the heels of VIRGINIA SWEET (R Danielson) and had to be steadied. b) HOLD MY HAND (M Yeni) over raced in the early stages. c) At the 150m GOLD POKER GAME (A Domeyer), which was hanging out, rolled out and was brushed on the hindquarters by ENEMY TERRITORY (IRE) (L Mxothwa). Shortly thereafter, ENEMY TERRITORY (IRE) (L Mxothwa) rolled out and was steadied briefly when close to the heels of GOLD POKER GAME (A Domeyer). d) Approaching the 50m Jockey R Fourie (HAPPY CHANCE) briefly dropped his left-side rein. e) Jockey R Danielson reported that VIRGINIA SWEET tired quickly in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) SAARTJIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
