Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAT'S PRIDE (M Yeni) jumped inwards and bumped GREEN WITH ENVY (C Zackey), which in turn bumped RED PALACE (A Andrews) on the hindquarters. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being bumped leaving the stalls, GREEN WITH ENVY (C Zackey) was steadied and taken in behind runners. b) At the 150m JERUSALEMA RAIN (R Danielson) was steadied when unable to secure clear running between HLUHLUWE (G van Niekerk) and TAIL OF THE COMET (R Fourie). c) Leaving the 100m QUESTIONING (B Fayd'Herbe) was steadied, shifted in and brushed ZIL MORIS (K Matsunyane) when close to the heels of GREEN WITH ENVY (C Zackey), which rolled in. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that whilst riding SNOW PILOT he made a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. Jockey JP van der Merwe signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2 000.00. e) SNOW PILOT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (WM) f) RED PALACE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
