THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KNOCKOUT (G van Niekerk) jumped awkwardly. b) RANI OF JHANSI (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. c) ELECTRIC FEELS (J Gates) MIA'S HARPER (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 250m GOLDEN CORN (P Mxoli) had to be steadied away from the heels of BENEATH THE MOON (K Steyn), which was hanging out and shifted out. Thereafter, approaching the 150m, BLACK PATH (M Yeni) had to be checked away from the heels of BENEATH THE MOON (K Steyn), which continued to shift out. An Inquiry will be opened into this incident. b) Leaving the 150m GREAT CAT (L Mxothwa) was carried inwards by MIA'S HARPER (C Zackey), which shifted in and was immediately straightened. c) RANI OF JHANSI (R Fourie) was continually held up for a clear run until the 150m. d) KNOCKOUT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
