a)	HARD WINTER (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	FIRU STAR (M Yeni) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer AE Sands was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended.
b)	AXL (C Orffer) was squeezed out between FIRU STAR (M Yeni) and MOYA WA LIGA, both of which shifted ground leaving the stalls.
c)	COASTAL COMMANDER (B Fayd'Herbe) was hanging out from the 300m.
d)	BLIZZARD (L Mxothwa) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders)
