THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BELLE'S FIRST WAVE (D Ashby) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) MO FLOW (M Yeni) and PIPER OF HAMELIN (M Mjoka) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 1300m MO FLOW (M Yeni) commenced to over race, rolled out and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of CHARGE AHEAD (C Maujean). b) In view of the performance of NAIROBI (D Schwarz), which raced prominently in the early stages and tired quickly from the 500m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of CHARGE AHEAD (C Maujean), which was hanging in throughout and was not persevered with from the 250m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) REACH FORTHE STARS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
