THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PLAY WITH FIRE (S Khumalo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MARTINIQUE (M Yeni) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DARLING HARBOUR (P Mxoli) over-raced in the early stages. b) OUTER DIMENSION (D Schwarz) came under pressure at the 600m and thereafter tired badly. Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer W Masawi, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of OUTER DIMENSION on return to stables. c) MARTINIQUE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
