THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATYAM (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading. b) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, NATYAM (L Mxothwa) lifted its right hind shoe on the way to the start which had to be re-fitted, causing a delay. b) JUST VAR (A Arries) pulled hard in the early stages. c) HARAJUKU (JP van der Merwe) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. d) In the concluding stages NATYAM (L Mxothwa) rolled out and made slight contact with HARAJUKU (JP van der Merwe) at the finish. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding NATYAM (L Mxothwa), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 24/12/2023 to 30/12/2023 inclusive). NATYAM may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) HARAJUKU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
