THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAMPSTEAD HEATH (G Wright), MARPORI (K Steyn) and KOSUKE (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, PRANKSTER (R Fourie) raced with its head up while attempting to get cover in the early stages. b) Approaching the 400m GUSTO GIRL (C Bantam) was directed inwards away from the heels of a tiring KYOKA (O Noach). c) For a short distance leaving the 300m, PRETTY PRECIOUS (L Mxothwa) raced tight while improving into a narrow run between MARPORI (K Steyn) and SEE YOU IN A BIT (R Danielson). d) HAMPSTEAD HEATH (G Wright) and DANCE AGAIN (C Zackey) raced green. e) Jockeys D Ashby and K Steyn, the riders of EMERALD FLOWER and MARPORI respectively, reported that these fillies did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) FIGURE EIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised.
