Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	NARCOS (D Schwarz) and CRUISE CONTROL (S Khumalo) were stubborn loading.
b)	PRINCE OF FIRE (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	MHLABENI (L Mxothwa) was restless in the stalls and kicked the back gates as the start was effected, losing one length. 
d)	INHERIT THE RAIN (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride.



THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	AL QAASIM (E Webber) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
b)	Approaching the 500m SAFE RETURN (J Gates) was steadied briefly when close to the heels of NARCOS (D Schwarz).
c)	In view of the performance of CLIFF TOP (R Fourie), which committed to race alongside CRUISE CONTROL (S Khumalo) at the head of the field in the early stages and commenced to give ground quickly in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey D Ashby reported that EVIES FIRST was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	CRUISE CONTROL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
