Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OPERA SWING (R Khathi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) AERIAL VIEW (S Khumalo) and KABON KAPI (J Gates) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) In the concluding stages IDABELLE (M Yeni), which showed a tendency to hang in, had to be steadied briefly when awkwardly placed on the outside of RAISING QUINN (D Ashby). c) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of BACK FOR MORE he misused his crop by striking BACK FOR MORE more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R10 000,00. d) BACK FOR MORE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
