THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DESTINED TO DANCE (J Solomons) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 600m DESTINED TO DANCE (J Solomons) raced into restricted galloping room between MARSHALL FIELD (C Orffer) and SUDDEN SONG (L Mxothwa), was steadied and then shifted out, clipped the heels of SUDDEN SONG (L Mxothwa), stumbled and shifted out sharply. As a consequence, Jockey J Solomons (DESTINED TO DANCE) became unbalanced and briefly lost his right-side stirrup iron. FAMILY POWER (G van Niekerk), which was racing to the outside of DESTINED TO DANCE (J Solomons), had to be checked, shifted out and raced very wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight.
b)	In view of the performance of LORD FYFIELD (JP van der Merwe), which was hanging out in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	WEATHER KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (SC)
