THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ESQUEVELLE (G Lerena) broke through the front gate, dislodged Jockey Lerena and bolted the course. This gelding was subsequently scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. The Starting Stall Certificate for ESQUEVELLE has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ESQUEVELLE, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 16 February 2022 to 22 February 2022. ESQUEVELLE may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer C Binda (PHvdW). b) IRFAANS BOY (*K A Brewer) which commenced to hang out from the 250m, shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) At approximately the 150m, RISING FENIX (M Yeni) had to switch in to continue its run. d) IRFAANS BOY (*K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
