THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAWKBILL (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THE FRONT LINE (C Habib) over-raced in the early stages. b) HOME OF THE BRAVE (R Fourie) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) At approximately the 600m, SUPREME DANCE (P Strydom) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between HAWKBILL (C Zackey) and TROIS TROIS QUATRE (M Yeni) and on the heels of HOME OF THE BRAVE (R Fourie). d) At approximately the 200m, HAWKBILL (C Zackey) was carried in by SUPREME DANCE (P Strydom), which hung in from the 300m. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that HAWKBILL took an awkward stride at the 500m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with JET DYNASTY in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey C Habib reported that THE FRONT LINE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. h) HOME OF THE BRAVE (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (MS).
