THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUNDROP (K Steyn) jumped awkwardly. b) HE'S A GAUL (K Minnie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SUNDROP (K Steyn) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) SUNLIT FROM HEAVEN (JP van der Merwe) was hanging in from the 400m. c) At the 250m FIRST MASTER (Y Ramzan) shifted in away from IMHOTEP (G Wright), which was hanging in and then had to be steadied when close to the heels of JOE HARMAN (J Gates), which rolled out slightly. d) Jockey K Minnie reported that HE'S A GAUL changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) In view of the performance of WOLFRAM (R Danielson), which trailed the field throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) MILITARY MAN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
