Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	LUNA HALO (R Fourie) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls.
b) 	SISTER LIGHT (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride.
c)	KABON KAPI (J Gates) jumped inwards and thereafter was slow into stride.
d)	OPERA SWING (R Khathi) and OFFICIAL SECRET (C Maujean) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start KABON KAPI (J Gates), which shifted inwards slightly, made contact with OPERA SWING (R Khathi) and became unbalanced. Shortly thereafter, KABON KAPI (J Gates) raced onto the heels of LUNA HALO (R Fourie) and had to be steadied.
b)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that, leaving the 800m, he felt something amiss with RARATONGA ROSE and he eased this filly out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c)	MEDLERS TART (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 400m.
d)	Jockey R Khathi reported that OPERA SWING did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
e)	The saddle on LUNA HALO (R Fourie) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward.
f)	GOLD POKER GAME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Mkhala, acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson, was advised. (LM)

a)	RARATONGA ROSE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. Trainer GD Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
b) 	OPERA SWING - lame left front. Rule 49.7 applies. A veterinary certificate is required prior to acceptance. 
c)	DAME OF FLAMES - abnormal respiratory noise
