Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PATRICK'S ONE (C Bantam) was restless in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) GIVETHATMANABELLS (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. c) GROOVEJET (JP van der Merwe) and JUAN LES PINS (C Orffer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, TOM'S DINER (S Veale) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) After being slow to begin, GIVETHATMANABELLS (R Fourie) was taken in behind runners in the early stages. c) THE NIGHT FERRY (G van Niekerk) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Thereafter, Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) JUAN LES PINS (C Orffer) raced green on the turn. e) Approaching the 150m PATRICK'S ONE (C Bantam), which raced green, was steadied away from the heels of a tiring THE NIGHT FERRY (G van Niekerk). f) KING OF SPIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
