Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BIG UNIT (R Danielson) turned its head to the side as the start was effected and jumped slow, losing one length. b) PREVALENCE (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MASTER OF PARIS (JP van der Merwe) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) The saddle on NO APOLOGIES, which pulled hard in the early and middle stages, slipped forward in running, placing Jockey A Domeyer at a disadvantage. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. c) Leaving the 200m SPIRIT'S UNITE (A Andrews) was steadied away from the heels of LUCE VERDE (G Wright) when awkwardly placed between RADICCHIO (K Steyn), which was hanging out in the straight and LUCE VERDE (G Wright), which rolled in and was immediately straightened. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that ROYAL SWAN MASTER choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) QUATERMAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
