THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	RED MOON RISING (A Andrews), RANI OF JHANSI (A Mgudlwa) and GIMMETHATPEARL (G van Niekerk) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 200m TRIP TO MAPUTO (A Domeyer) was carried outwards and made contact with ANDI'S GIRL (JP van der Merwe), which in turn bumped BUSY LIZZIE (S Veale) outwards on two occasions when carried outwards by KAMAKAZI (M Winnaar), which was hanging out and shifted out. Shortly thereafter, TRIP TO MAPUTO (A Domeyer) had to be checked away from the heels of KAMAKAZI (M Winnaar), which continued to shift outwards. Thereafter, leaving the 150m, ANDI'S GIRL (JP van der Merwe) had to be checked away from the heels of KAMAKAZI (M Winnaar), which continued to shift out without correction.
b)	Jockey M Winnaar was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of KAMAKAZI he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TRIP TO MAPUTO, BUSY LIZZIE and ANDI'S GIRL at the 200m and leaving the 150m. Jockey M Winnaar signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days. (Dates: 16/01/2024 to 25/01/2024, both dates inclusive)
c)	In view of the performance of RANI OF JHANSI (A Mgudlwa), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	SCHOOL POLICY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised. (WM)
