THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ARIVIDICIO (*T Mayhew), HIS MASTER'S VOICE (N Klink), POCKET WATCH (C Habib) and SUPER AGRA (*B Plaatjies) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1000m, RATTLE BAG (P Mxoli), which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of CARE TAKER (M Yeni). As a consequence of this, SUPER AGRA (*B Plaatjies), which was racing on the inside of RATTLE BAG (P Mxoli), was steadied momentarily. b) At approximately the 900m, CARE TAKER (M Yeni) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of SLINKY MAPIMPI (P Strydom), which rolled in. c) SLINKY MAPIMPI (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J M Vermeulen advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) POCKET WATCH raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 15 January 2024 at 08H16). b) RATTLE BAG raced with a tongue tie on (declared 15 January 2024 at 15H44).
