THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	STORM COMMANDER (S Khumalo) and THE CHARIOTEER (L Mxothwa) were stubborn loading.
b) 	AFRICA'S ROCK (K Minnie) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c)	HAWK CIRCLE (M Yeni) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	GREY SMOKE (R Danielson) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler, causing a delay. This gelding is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as he proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day.
b)	ADMIRAL'S RANSOM (C Maujean) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight.
c)	KUZNETSOV (M Mjoka) was hanging in from the 400m.
d)	STORM COMMANDER (S Khumalo) was hanging out in the latter stages. 
e)	Jockey R Khathi reported that FATHER'S FROST did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
f)	Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with GREY SMOKE and he did not persevere with his riding from the 500m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g)	SAND BANK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
