THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DU CANE (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1400m GIJIMA MFANA (C Habib) was carried out marginally by MASTER OWL (J Gates) which was hanging out. b) At the 1000m, ELECTRIC STORM (R A Venniker) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of ROY'S RUFFIAN (D S Lembethe) which rolled out. c) In the concluding stages GIJIMA MFANA (C Habib) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between ELECTRIC STORM (R A Venniker) which was hanging in, and KING'S ISLAND (S Veale). d) Trainer W H Marwing signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.3 in that he failed to vaccinate HAPPYINHEAVEN against African Horse Sickness in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. Trainer W H Marwing was advised that HAPPYINHEAVEN may not be nominated for any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority until fully vaccinated against African Horse Sickness. e) MADISON VALLEY (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
