THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE WORK OF LIFE (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CITY LIGHTS (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) DYNAMIC LASS (S Moodley) and SHE'S A KLAWER (P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, DYNAMIC LASS (S Moodley) was buffeted between CITY LIGHTS (C Habib) and SHE'S A KLAWER (P Mxoli), which was carried in by THE WORK OF LIFE (P Strydom), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, b) SAY IT WITH ROSES (G Lerena) hung out from the 600m. c) FRANCES ETHEL (K Matsunyane) and KISSING MACHINE (M Yeni) brushed at approximately the 400m. d) Jockey P Mxoli (SHE'S A KLAWER) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey P Mxoli reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) FRANCES ETHEL (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Crawford, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VILLA SEMAYA was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 23 January 2024 at 12H14).
