THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ARCHIMIDES (R Munger) and WEATHER WIZARD (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HAZLO GRANDE (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, HAZLO GRANDE (P Mxoli), which commenced to over-race, was steadied and directed outwards to avoid running onto the heels of BLACK LIGHTNING (D Schwarz). b) VIVA SPIRIT (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Koaho was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VIVA SPIRIT was ridden by Jockey G Lerena, who weighed out at 55,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared (declared 23 January 2024 at 08H23). b) SECRET IS OURS was ridden by Apprentice M K Katjedi (declared 23 January 2024 at 13H49).
