THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE GLIDING FISH (C Dicken) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. Lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 400m, COTTON RON (N Patel) and LUCKY DOLLAR (T Godden) came together and brushed. b) At the 150m, GIMME A RAINBOW (S Moodley) had to steady when awkwardly placed between COTTON RON (N Patel) which rolled in and NORTHERN WARRIOR (R Venniker) which was hanging out from the 300m. c) Shortly before the finish-line, HAPPY WANDERER (*S Hlengwa) was brushed out by NORTHERN WARRIOR (R Venniker) which continued to hang out. d) BOM BOM (C Habib) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. e) The saddle on BOM BOM (C Habib) slipped side-ways in the running. This was confirmed by the patrol films. f) Jockey C Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with THE GLIDING FISH in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the performance of FLIGHT PATH (*K Lihaba) (5.85 lengths, 8/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) HAPPY WANDERER (*S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
