THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MOUNT ANDERSON (M van Rensburg) and CASTLETOWN (D Schwarz) were examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. 
b)	PERFECTION (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length.
c) 	MHLABENI (K Steyn) stumbled leaving the stalls.
d)	FIND ME UNAFRAID (Y Ramzan), OUTOFTHEDARKNESS (R Danielson) and BOLD RESOLVE (J Gates) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	While attempting a narrow run between PORT LOUIS (R Fourie) and BRENDEN JAMES (M Yeni), GLOBAL ALLY (C Maujean) brushed the hindquarters of BRENDEN JAMES (M Yeni) leaving the 400m.
b)	Approaching the 250m a tiring LIGHT SPEED (R Khathi) had to be steadied briefly when racing tight between the inside running rail and PORT LOUIS (R Fourie), which was hanging in, shifted in and was immediately straightened.
c)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with PERFECTION and did not persevere with his riding form the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	CHERRY ANO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
