Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ISIVUNGUVUNGU (R Fourie) took charge of his Handler while being loaded and made contact with the back gates of the starting stalls, was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, MUFASA (K Matsunyane) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced. b) After the late scratching of ISIVUNGUVUNGU (R Fourie), the start of this race was delayed to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. c) Approaching the 50m SURJAY (L Mxothwa) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of BEREAVE (C Orffer), which was hanging out from the 400m, shifted out and proved difficult to keep straight. d) DYCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Houdalakis was advised. (WM) e) THUNDERSTRUCK, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SG Tarry was advised.
