THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAPPHIRE RAIN (*N Nastili) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SAPPHIRE RAIN fly-jumped leaving the stalls resulting in Apprentice N Nastili briefly losing the footing to his left-side stirrup iron. Thereafter, this filly was slow into stride and raced detached, in isolation at the back of the field. b) At approximately the 200m, Jockey D Schwarz, the rider of ACROSS THE POND, got his crop entangled in his reins. c) VISIONOFPEACE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) INTRO was ridden by Jockey P Mxoli (declared 28 January 2024 at 12H21). Stipes permission as Jockey C Zackey experienced flight complications.
