THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TWENTY DRACHMA'S (P Mxoli) was stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (PHvdW). b) MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (*N Nastili) and NUCLEAR FORCE (K A Brewer) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 200m, FIERY CLIFFS (S Khumalo) had to check to avoid the heels of MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (*N Nastili), which shifted out. Apprentice N Nastili was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of MONSIEUR CHEVELLE, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FIERY CLIFFS (S Khumalo) when he shifted out at approximately the 200m. Apprentice N Nastili signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days. Suspension dates: 2 February 2024 to 8 February 2024 (both days inclusive). b) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that CORAPI did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) TWENTY DRACHMA'S, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) NUCLEAR FORCE was ridden by Jockey K A Brewer (declared 28 January 2024 at 15H45). Stipes permission as Jockey S Moodley experienced flight complications (documentation received). b) EIGER SANCTION: Jockey G Lerena weighed out at 56,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. c) FIERY CLIFFS: Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 54,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
