THE STARTER REPORTED A) GREEN LIGHT GAL was slow into stride. B) EVA EILEEN was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Leaving the 400m, FOREIGN SOURCE (X Ndlovu) and VARSITY BOURBON (T Gould) brushed on two occasions. B) BIG BAY (*Y Ramzan) hung in from the 400m. C) Jockey T Gould reported that he felt something amiss with VARSITY BOURBON in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) In the concluding stages, WHAT A WINNER (R Fourie) was brushed out by STRANGER DANGER (*K A Brewer) which weakened and rolled out under pressure. E) Jockey R Fourie reported that WHAT A WINNER changed stride continually in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) The winner EVIES FIRST was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer J P Nel advised (LM).
