Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLAG MAN (A Mgudlwa) proved fractious in the stalls, was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and passed fit to race. Thereafter RELEASE ME (M Yeni) was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to race. RELEASE ME and FLAG MAN were re loaded into the starting stalls. FLAG MAN (A Mgudlwa) once again proved fractious in the starting stalls and got his left front leg caught over the starting stall partition. FLAG MAN (A Mgudlwa) was then removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 150m CAPTAIN ROCKET (T Godden) was brushed out by MASTER FUEGO (C Zackey) which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. Thereafter MASTER FUEGO (C Zackey) continued to hang out. b) LAUDATO (*S Hlengwa) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. c) Jockey R A Venniker reported that SYX HOTFIX took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of SELUKWE (C Habib), (5.70 lengths and 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FLAG MAN (A Mgudlwa), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 31.01.24 to the 06.02.24. FLAG MAN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised. (TM) f) LAUDATO (*S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Clarke acting on behalf of Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ).
