Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SENHORA VICTORIA (C Orffer) proved difficult loading. b) MOTHERSHIP (K Steyn) was restless in the stalls. c) PRINCESS IZZY (L Mxothwa) and ENCHANTING CHOICE (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PORTO ZANTE (A Andrews) raced wide without cover in the early stages and was allowed to race to the front of the field approaching the 1000m. b) Leaving the 200m, LOREINA (JP van der Merwe) had to be steadied away from the heels of PRINCESS IZZY (L Mxothwa), which was hanging out and rolled out. c) ENCHANTING CHOICE (C Zackey) and CALLMEGETRIX (G Wright) were hanging out from the 300m. d) In view of the performance of MOTHERSHIP (K Steyn) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on PORTO ZANTE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, resulting in a change of rider. Jockey R Danielson signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. f) RAINBOW LORIKEET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
