THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZIL MORIS (R Fourie) stood awkwardly in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length b) BLACKBERRY MALT (K Steyn) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) COMMON GROUNDS (M Mjoka) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led riderless by Jockey M Mjoka and a Handler, causing a lengthy delay. This gelding is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as he proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day. b) MARVEL WILLIAM (A Arries) raced wide without cover until approaching the 600m. c) Approaching the 200m RULE OF THUMB (C Bantam) was momentarily inconvenienced when tightened for galloping room between CARRIACOU (G van Niekerk) and FUTURE PRINCE (L Mxothwa), which rolled out and was immediately straightened. d) COMMON GROUNDS (M Mjoka) was hanging in in the straight. e) ZIL MORIS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
