Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHIFTING PATH (O Noach) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (G van Niekerk) and SPIRIT'S UNITE (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 400m SEEKING PEACE (G Wright) was held up and had to be directed inwards when close to the heels of SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (G van Niekerk). b) SEEKING PEACE (G Wright) and SHIFTING PATH (O Noach) brushed leaving the 200m. c) BENEATH THE MOON (K Steyn) was hanging out throughout and had to be straightened at the 100m. d) Leaving the 100m Jockey C Zackey (GRAND BAY) dropped his right-side rein, which he only regained after the finish. e) GRAND BAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
